How to redeem a discount code

Enter your code at checkout, before you pay, so the price on the button is the price you are charged. There is no step where you pay full price and get money back.

Step by step

• Open Membership from your profile.
• Choose the plan you want, monthly or annual. That takes you to checkout.
• Find the box marked Discount code, type the code, and choose Apply.
• Check the price. If the code worked, the total updates on the spot and the button shows what you will actually pay.
• Subscribe.

If the code will not take

The page says why rather than just refusing. Usually one of these:

• The code has expired.
• It has been used as many times as it was meant to be.
• It is meant for a different plan or billing cycle.
• You have already used it on this account.

Codes that cover the full price

Some codes cover a plan in full for a period rather than taking a percentage off. Apply one of those and there is nothing to pay and no card kept on file. Your Membership page shows the plan and the date the free period runs through, and you keep every feature of it until then.
